At our school, we emphasise the development of individual skills and interests of both teachers and students. Students can choose various elective subjects: VEX and LEGO robotics, experiments in chemistry, ICT and multimedia, stars and space, sports for health, relaxation, etc... We also participate in various projects in cooperation with the Institute of Education. We have been participating in the Courage project for the third year in a row. In the 2021/2022 school year, we joined the extended program project - RaP. We are the only elementary school in Slovenia that uses VEX robotics. Our students are highly motivated. We participated in the European VEX Robotics Competition in Estonia. We also implement the First Lego League project at school. In 2022, we competed at the Open Championship of Finland, where we made it to the finals, and at the World Robotics Championship in Dallas, where we achieved an excellent result. As partners, we are active in many international projects.

For many years, we have been actively involved in international projects with the aim of acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary for the introduction of more modern didactic approaches, and we actively promote lifelong learning. This requires constant adaptation on the part of students and teachers and more additional work involved. As a school, we want to be recognizable in the local environment and beyond, so we have set clear priorities and goals, which we will only be able to achieve with high-quality cooperation and the addition of existing content, which will bring examples of good practice from abroad to our school. A major challenge is education for sustainable development, digitalisation of processes, efficient use of digital technologies, active citizenship, increasing students' interest in technical professions, STEM and robotics, planning cross-curricular connections, supporting talented students, developing career and personal challenges for teachers who will use new concepts and ideas more effectively and will certainly contribute more to the further spread of knowledge and development, as well as the recognition of our school.
