Estonia Mobility
October 2021
The meeting in Estonia on 1-5 November was the first for this project. Teachers from Portugal, Turkey, Romania and Slovenia visited the school. Sweden, another country participating in the project, joined us virtually this time.

The focus of the first meeting was to get to know each other and the countries. All forms of bullying and bullying in general were discussed. In future meetings, the different types of bullying will be explored in more depth and in more detail.

Over the course of the week, each of the guests introduced their schools and talked about what kind of bullying their school has to deal with, the solutions, the methods and the possibilities used to deal with it. The schools shared good examples and practices that have worked.

In international teams, participants had to solve a creative task focusing on four forms of bullying.
Physical bullying involves contact between people. Examples include shaking, tripping, pushing and kicking. Sometimes it is difficult to distinguish from play, but if it is at an inappropriate time, or if everyone involved is uncomfortable, it can be bullying.
Verbal bullying is words directed at a person. Name calling, insulting, bullying, intimidating or making homophobic or racist remarks are all forms of verbal abuse.
Covert bullying refers to actions that are carried out behind a person’s back. It is done with the sole purpose of damaging a person’s reputation or causing humiliation.
Cyberbullying can take place in public or in secret. Cyberbullying deliberately uses technology and devices such as social media, private websites or mobile phones to target someone. Negative posts on social media and direct contact via text messages are two of the most common forms of cyberbullying.
