Colegiul National Tudor Vladimirescu – Romania – ROBOTICS AS A TOOL TO PREVENT BULLYING

BRIEF HISTORY

The “Tudor Vladimirescu College” was established in September 1890 as the “Tudor Vladimirescu” Exact Sciences Gymnasium. Its construction began in 1891 and was completed in 1894.

The institution acquired its name “Tudor Vladimirescu” by royal decree in 1897.

The extension of the building can be considered a model, as it followed the original architecture exactly.

Classes in the current premises began only in 1898, when the construction of the building was completed. Until 1918, a Ceramic School functioned in the premises of the gymnasium.

In the year 1916, the school interrupted its classes due to the war. During the closure, the building functioned as a military hospital and, after the defeat of the Romanian army, as a horse stable.

Since 1977, the realistic-humanist high school changed its profile, becoming the Mathematics-Physics High School, and since 1999, in recognition of the special quality of the educational process carried out in this educational unit, the “Tudor Vladimirescu” High School has become the “Tudor Vladimirescu” National College “.

CURRENTLY

In the 2021-2022 school year, the school has 1500 students and 95 teachers.

Number of classes: 12 primary education, 13 secondary education, 29 high school education. Our college has 24 classrooms, library, 4 computer labs, chemistry lab, physics lab, two sports halls, canteen, museum, amphitheater, basketball court, volleyball court, robotics club, anti-bullying club, debating club, reading club, chess club, club of European projects.
